MSRP
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price
MSRP - The Manufacturer‘s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is the retail price set by the manufacturer and posted on the federally required window sticker often referred to as the Monroney sticker. The Monroney sticker may not be removed by anyone other than the purchaser. Each dealer is free to set the sale price of each vehicle. The Base Retail Price is the MSRP for a vehicle with no additional options included. A dealer may equip a vehicle with additional equipment or even sell a new vehicle for more than MSRP, but in order to do so legally must present an Addendum to the Monroney sticker. There is no MSRP or Monroney sticker requirement for a used vehicle although certain "book values" (Kelley Blue Book, Black Book, NADA guides) are the defacto equivalent with a used vehicle and many banks base their funding maximums on these values.
